i am still holding your hand

one year later

i am still back to back

and holding on for dear life

i am cold and wet from the rain

but it’s well worth it

now some 700 miles away

i could use some sip and maybe some dip

i’m looking east

i’m looking to you my dear great falls

i’m the only one in this bed

look for me on that trail by the river

or in the hotel lobby where we almost kissed

in the town where the night before the light before us turned purple

i’m ghosting through all these places where we used to spend our time

inside the scent of a clean gym floor

hiding in the hollow of a loud lunch room

filling you with nostalgia and happiness and tears

fond memories

that tear at your heart
