  • Justin: Sure! And thieves and pawnbrokers and bakers-

  • Justin: Well, generally he's the patron saint of anybody _in trouble_, and there are legends about how he brought gifts to those in need--usually at night, so no one could see him--hence, the idea of Santa Claus delivering presents on Christmas Eve.
  • Brian: Sure, to all the good little murderers and pawnbrokers and thieves...
  • Justin: Brian, I think you're missing the point here.
  • Brian: Am I?
  • Justin: The point is, the spirit of Christmas, *the spirit of giving* has spread pretty much worldwide. And millions of people have Santa Claus traditions, and millions and millions of children do believe in him. In Brazil he's Vovo Indo, in China he's Dun Che Lao Ren, on Easter Island he's-
